Review: NYX Smokey eyes palette + FOTD

About 2 weeks ago I got my NYX smokey eyes palette and today I decided to do a makeup look and a little review with swatshes of it. I ordered mine from ebay, and paid about 10$ for it including shipping. So far I really like this palette, it gives a nice variety of colours- 2 lighter colours for highlight, 4 pretty dark matte colors, 3 metallic silvers and 1 brown/taupe colors. It comes with medium sized mirror and one sponge tip applicator. The quality and pigmentation of these shadows are really nice for this price (just 1$ per shadow :) ). If you like smokey eyes and you are just starting your makeup collection, then I definitely reccomend this palette :)

So here are some swatches with nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk as a base:

And my little look using this palette:

The shadows are not so glittery in real life, that "awesome" effect happened when I resized this picture. :)

NOTD: cute hearts for valentines day

So now I have few weeks when I'm allowed to paint my nails again, beacuse I do not have any school- I have to study for exams. Today I really wanted to do a nail design using some nail polishes which I bought in november. All of them are china glaze, except top coat and base coat.
It is quite easy to do, because I'm a beginner at this too :D Did not find anything similar on youtube, so maybe when I get some false tips, I will do a tutorial on it too. :D

Product list:
First apply your basecoat: I used opi nail envy
Paint your nails with main color(pink)- china glaze sugar high (I needed only 1 coat!)
Add some lilac on the tips diagonally- I used china glaze secret peri-wink-le
Make some stripes with nail art brush- china glaze grape pop
add silver dots with dotting tool or toothpick- china glaze millenium
then but on some topcoat and while it is still wet, add heart-shaped rhinestones. I used seche vite topcoat, which dries your nail polish really fast, but it has a downside too - I almost always have nailpolish peeling off issues. Even if I follow the instructions exactly- You have to add this top coat on almost WET nailpolish! But I'm going to do separate post on this topcoat ;)
Correct any mistakes that you made with a cotton swab and a bit of nailpolish remover.

And that's it :D

Some of my first makeup looks

I used 120 palette eyeshadows and art deco eyeprimer as a base. I did not own any eyeliner at that time so thats why my eyes aren't lined. And I usually do not put any eyeshadowsunder my lower lashline, because I feel that my eyes are tiny enough and the color there just "closes" them more.

Update 2013, january: wow, I was clueless, but that means only one thing - my makeup skills have become better and I do belive that I can be better- so learning to do makeup is never ending process :)

NOTD: tropical zebra

Hey, beauties!

I have been doing nail art on myself for year and a half now, but unfortuntely I can't wear nailpolish on daily basis, so I have really done my nails only 30-40 times during that time. So in no way am I skilled at this...
but I really liked how this one turned out, so I thought that I would like to shre it with you! :)
So what did I use to get this look:
1. OPI garangtuan green grape: 2-coats for opaque base.
2. Then sponge on China Glaze for audrey on your nail tips.
3. Next sponge on some China Glaze Sexy in the city nailpolish.
3. The stripes are done with China Glaze ink nailpolish- it has a thin brush for detailed work.
4. Top coat is really important in this look, because the one I used gave the look nice shimmer- it was China Glaze holographic top coat. Then I added some green, blue etc rhinestones which I got from ebay. :)

Thank you for reading! :)

Hello to everyone!

I just started out this blog to share my passion with you. As a first post I'm going to answer some questions about my makeup story TAG which has been circulating youtube recently.
Sorry if the answers are short, but English is not my native language and it's really late now.

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
Umm.. I guess I was about 14-15, but I have never started to wear makeup on everyday basis. I just do not find time in the mornings for "putting my face on". About 1,5 years ago I discovered youtube beauty gurus and since that time I have accumulated more and more makeup.

2. How did you get into makeup?
In teen years I was not so into makeup, just regular curiosity I would say. Look at the first answer- youtube is the key here. :D

3. What are some of your favorite brands?
I have never used expensive brands, so I cannot pinpoint my favorites at the moment. I really love NYX jumbo eye pencils. Loreal true match foundation was really good too.

4. What does makeup mean to you?
Makeup is a tool to express my creativity, to boost my confidence. I usually do my makeup when I'm going out with my friends, going to birthdays etc.

5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
First one would be mascara, maybe lipgloss, foundation and blush.

6. What is your favorite thing about makeup?
Makeup is like any other art- you can always get better at it. There is room to evolve. :D

7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs high end makeup?
Since I have only used so called drug store makeup, then it is impossible for me to compare those two.

8. What is one tip of advice you can give to a beginner?
Hahaa.. lol. I AM still the beginner. I would say that if you live where I live, then shop on ebay- the prices are much more reasonable ;)

9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?
I would say that maybe dark lips, also very nude lips- they look too pale on me.

10. What do you think about the beauty community on YouTube?
I LOVE IT. Maybe some day I'll be brave and make some videos too. :D

Thank you for your time! :D
